My first stop was at Staples - they had a nice HP LJ1018 on sale for $99.98 (ie 149.98 - 50.00 at till rebate). OK I thought and plunked down my payment. 10 minutes later down the street at Future Shop found exact same unit for their regular price of $89.99 - that is $10 cheaper or $60 less than the 'regular price'! 20 minutes later at WalMart found the same printer on sale for just under $129. Hmm.
End result. Took back the Staples one and bought the Future Shop one. I know - I am cheap. But the savings was over 10% between those two stores. Staples offered to price match - but I didn't feel inclined to reward them for overpricing the printer in the first place and making me do their work for them. What would you do?
